About the artist

C.W. Rodriguez was born in Bogota, Colombia to an American mother and Colombian father who worked in Colombia for the Rockefeller Foundation. His family returned to the USA in 1956 and remained in the US, where CW finished high school in Tucson, Arizona in 1964. CW first became interested in photography after seeing his Father taking pictures of Colombian bullfights with an old Leica. CW's interest in photography began during his college years, working with 35mm film and an old Mamiya Sekor. When digital photography hit the marketplace with the Canon 10d in 2000, CW transitioned to digital and now works exclusively in this media and in videography. His favorite subjects include the natural beauty of the West and Southwestern United States. Bill currently lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as a mechanical engineer specializing in optical mounting systems, as well as running his small graphics company, Chalchihuitl Productions. He makes frequent visits to northern California and the Santa Cruz area.

About the work

I beleive my art is a representation of what I perceive as significant in my life. The representation is my attempt to present the vision as I see it, so that the viewer can experience my perspective. This applies to any art form, be it image presentation, musical composition, sculpture or any other creative representation. The ability to perceive in a manner that is unique is the artist's gift; the ability to present in a manner that resonates with the viewer, is the blessing.
