About the artist
My name is Ryan Attema; I was born and raised in Santa Cruz California. I am fifteen years old and attend Santa Cruz High School. In addition to photography, I enjoy playing sports and surfing.
About the work
My interest in photography began shortly after my family acquired a digital camera when I was twelve years old. I enjoy the exploring my local surrounding to find and compose interesting images. Nature is my favorite subject, the ocean in particular. I have found that my surfing experience has been useful in working with this dynamic subject. My experience with the digital camera has motivated me to learn more about photography by taking a photography class at my high school.
